Main Character is named Morgue, and she is a witch who died and had been sent back in time several months. And her soulmate, whom she will refers to as her deathmate, may have had her killed, They will work on it.

Here is what I have written for Prompt Five of Swords, this is rough draft no edits. Written on 10-4-2024

Five of Swords

I moves forward, trying to keep my steps as quiet as I can. Being careful on the spots that I place my feet. I don't want to alert anyone in teh clearing to my presence.

Lilith, and [wolf friends name], are moving towards the front. While [friend] tries for moving along the other side. 

I can see as [Lilith sister] is tied up, leaning against a tree. My end goal is to get to her. The others are going to go for both a distraction as well as a frontal attack. But i need to get closer, before they can move. Otherwise someone might grab [LS] from her spot, which is the opposite of what we want.

A large tree blocks me from view, but there is a larger gap between me and [LS] than I would like. This is as close as I can get without high risk of being seen. Damn what I wouldn't give for powers right now.

I slip a knife from my belt, ready to cut the rope binding [LS] as fast as possible, as soon as the others draw attention their way.

"Hey!" I hear yelled, followed by other voices and movement away from [LS] and me.

I dart over to [LS] a quick glance as I move lets me know others are moving away.

Knife in hand I start to cut threw the rope tied around [LS].

"thank you," [LS] whispers with tears slipping from her eyes.

"Run...as soon as I'm done Run." I whisper back.

My left hand reaches up and wipes away some of her tears before I move on to cutting away the second rope.

A loud thud behind me causes me to try and cut faster, as do [LS] wide eyes. Quickly the rope drops to the ground.

"Run!" I say as I push her to her feet, facing her in the direction I parked. I quickly shove my keys into her hand, pushing her away.

[LS] takes off in a sprint, avoiding trees and bushes as she moves. Years of playing in these woods works in our favor tonight.

Turning I keep the knife held tight in my hand, taking in the scene in front of me. My friends fighting against those who just tried to sacrifice [LS] who is practically the little sister to us all, not just Lilith. I'm not much use in a fight, I know that, my friends know that, but I can draw attention so my friends can get an extra hit in. Or I can start messing up the ritual components that are between me and my friends.

"Enough!" is yelled threw the air, I stop short just two feet away from the altar. 

As my friends are magically pushed back. They land on their backs and stomachs, thankfully I don't hear anything beyond air leaving them.

"Just because you freed the girl doesn't mean we can't perform the ritual," The man who is in charge says as he turns to me, "we'll use you."

My eyes widen at his words, without thought I turn to run. But I run right into someone who restrains me.

"Steven I believe this is your niece? I think this a fitting punishment for both of you, Kill her." The man says voice casual, as if he isn't ordering my uncle to murder me.

"I'm sorry," My uncle whispers to me.

I turn to look at him, and the dagger in his hand slides into my chest.

So often people say and think that being stabbed in the heart is instant death. But in that moment it feels like time slows, and I felt teh dagger pierce first my skin, then between my ribs. Finally, into my heart. I can feel it my heart trying to beat despite the dagger for a few more beats.

My uncle lowers my body to the ground, my eyes only close after I see a ear roll down his face.

An animalistic rawer the last thing that I hear.

I'm in the process of learning and figuring out how I want to share and post things. Over the next...say two weeks...I will be trying to get chapters posted, epub copy of Whispers of Tomorrow, Free to members, uploaded. I need to learn how to use the site is basically what I am saying. I will also probably be setting up, or resetting up, Patreon and Ko-fi memberships as well. Since I am aware some people already have profiles there and probably don't want to make yet another account.
